About

So, what can I say about myself that will give you an idea of what I’m like… basically I am a bit of a Hypnotherapy geek I suppose! I am fascinated by the subject and its potential to really transform people’s lives in a fairly short space of time. So when I’m not playing a musical instrument or spending time with my family, you’ll find me with my head in a Hypnotherapy or NLP textbook or going on a training course, to enhance my skills.

I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others, so after I completed my training with The Quest Institute, I moved on to assist Trevor Silvester, founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy, in the training of other Cognitive Hypnotherapists on the Quest Diploma course and the Quest NLP Master Practitioner course.

Actually, it was when I was going through my Cognitive Hypnotherapy training at the Quest Institute several years ago that the penny dropped in terms of the power and effectiveness of what we were learning: we practised on each other and on friends and family, and amazing things started happening: people lost their phobias, lost weight naturally without dieting, let go of limiting beliefs and emotional ‘blocks’, and became more confident, assured and self-motivated.

It is a wonderfully fulfilling thing to spend your time helping people to let go of what’s holding them back in their lives. It’s really humbling the way that you can make such a difference to people in a fairly short space of time. I love this work!

I have had several previous careers: I have been a Dental Surgeon, I worked in the Civil Service as a Tax specialist, and since 1998 I have been helping people to make positive changes in their lives in my role as a Traditional Japanese Reiki teacher with an International reputation. When I was a Dentist, one of the things that I was best at was helping people to relax and build up their confidence, so I worked with a lot of very nervous patients who, although they were nervous wrecks coming for a check-up, after having seen me for a number of sessions, ended up calm and confident and no longer anxious about coming to have their teeth looked at or worked on.

I seem to be naturally calming!

I am exceedingly tall, I am quite laid-back and friendly and, strangely, I have an IQ of 146! I don’t know how that happened 🙂

And I have found just what is right for me with Cognitive Hypnotherapy: an elegant and powerful system that is focused entirely on the needs of each client. So unlike many Hypnotherapists, who will read out a standard script for every client who has, say, a weight problem, my approach is to ‘start with a blank sheet of paper’ and construct a bespoke programme for each of my clients, based on their life, their beliefs, their experiences and emotions… people develop their problem in a unique way, and so each client needs a unique solution.
